Ladies, do you have curly or wavy hair that can achieve skyscraper status with the help of some good ol’ Aqua Net? Fellas, do you have the ability to grow fierce sideburns and facial hair? If this sounds like you and you’re between the ages of 18 and 40, Beau Bonneau Casting could consider you for the role of an extra in the forthcoming Steve Jobs biopic, which begins shooting in San Francisco and Cupertino later this month.

The film, written by Aaron Sorkin of The Newsroom fame, portrays the times leading up to the launch of key Apple products. Shoots available to non-union folks like us involve being audience members set in 1984 and tech extras in 1988; Asian men are especially wanted for the latter. (If you happen to be a SAG actor, the roles broaden to include characters like press, engineers and marketing teams.)

Pay is not glamorous; it’s basically the respective minimum wages of San Francisco ($11.05) and Cupertino ($9), plus overtime. But should be a pretty fun and fascinating look into that time period in Bay Area innovation.

Just so you know, though, there’s already been some drama with this film before it has even started filming: Sony dropped it in November for unspecified reasons and Universal quickly snapped it up. Also, Christian Bale was originally supposed to star as Steve Jobs, but the role will now be played by Michael Fassbender.
