This week Domino's Israel launched a print ad campaign that combined some things San Franciscans are known to love: pizza, Sriracha, and bondage. The company is advertising its new Sriracha infused pies by depicting a tongue dressed in fetish gear with whip marks on it and the phrase "you're going to suffer and enjoy every moment of it."
Judging by the quality of their pizza I bet Domino's is kind of a shitty dominatrix — the sort of dominatrix that, say, sober you would never hang out with, but drunk you would cling to like the last lifeboat on the Titanic.
The campaign seems like a quasi tie in to the upcoming release of the 50 Shades of Gray movie. Is pizza what E.L. James meant by "inner goddess?" If so, my inner goodness is Escape From New York's "You Say Potato."
But this ad really should have run in SF instead of Israel because although we are pizza snobs, we welcome all walks of life this city, and even a bondage-loving tongue (wearing pants to cover its genitals?) would likely find more than a few friends in this city.
