This Saturday, La Cocina’s San Francisco Street Food Festival returns for the sixth year along Folsom Street in the Mission. The all day celebration “of community, culture, and entrepreneurial spirit” is one of SF's most delicious annual food events.

OK, it’s going to be crowded, but this fest is also worth it. It'll feature a mix of street food favorites and local food microbusinesses, including Curry Up Now, Don Bugito PreHispanic Snackeria, La Victoria Kitchen, 4505 Meats, Rice Paper Scissors, Radio Africa & Kitchen, plus many more.

The best way to experience the Street Food Festival is to get yourself a passport with credit that can be used at each of the participating vendors (and include one or more tokens good for a beverage). Passports range from $25 all the way up to $300, get you special discounts on menu items, and can be shared.

If you want to start feasting before the official festival, the weekend kicks off with a Fried Chicken Family Meal Friday night, a fundraiser for La Cocina with 11 chefs from all over the world preparing a myriad of fried chicken plus sides. And on Saturday morning, right before the festival begins, there's a sit-down Aperol Spritz Brunch (with bottomless drinks). Or if you have your own killer idea for a food truck (mine is pickled bread, but don't steal it), you can learn all about the local food community at La Cocina's Food & Entrepreneurship Conference, happening Sunday.
