SF Drivers Are Some of the Country's Most Courteous

By Wendy Steiner

If you believe the Driver's Seat Road Rage Survey by AutoVantage, San Francisco is home to the fourth most courteous drivers in the US. SF is less courteous than Portland, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis but heck, we weren't even on the list in past years so I think we're moving up in the niceness world. The least courteous cities are Houston, Atlanta, Baltimore, DC, and Boston.

The survey measured behavior, observations, and attitudes surrounding road rage-y activities like tailgating, running red lights, and cutting over without giving any notice. The survey also found that San Francisco drivers were the least likely to text while driving and second least likely to catch someone else texting while driving. Keep up the good work, San Francisco.
