When taking photos, there are some scenes that look way cooler when shot from above, taken as if you were floating above your subject. Unfortunately, we just aren't tiny or light enough to hang glide on a kite or to Webster ourselves with a bunch of balloons to get some of these aerial photos. Well, now you don't have to fantasize about inventing an incredible shrinking machine – there's a new aerial photography kit that the full-size, non-flying you can use with your regular old iPhone.

Sparrowscope is an invention created by engineer Ori Barbut about a year ago. How it works is easy: you take your phone and attach it to the Sparrowscope, which is attached to a kite line. The device uses your phone to take photos and allows you to remotely control and view what you're shooting using a tablet (or another iPhone) from the safety of the ground.

Here's an early video recorded from an early Sparrowscope prototype:

The Sparrowscope is not currently available for purchase, but its being Kickstarted, so if you like this idea, help make it a reality.
