I don’t know if it’s because SF is so expensive, or despite it, but damn– this is the place to be if you like free stuff. If you're an overly eager scavenger like me, you can't help but scope out what's inside every box and pile along the sidewalk. And if, like me, you're often disappointed and looking for a serious upgrade in your free treasures, you should take a virtual stroll through Yerdle.

Yerdle is a social marketplace for getting and giving free stuff, founded here in SF. Not just free stuff, but awesome free stuff that you would probably be down to pay for otherwise. Stuff like juicers, camping gear, Apple TVs, cameras, Patagonia jackets... a straight-up jackpot for the urban hunter-gatherer.

Go sign up (for free, naturally) and you'll get 250 credits that you can use on the thousands of items listed. Then, if you list some of your own stuff to the site, you get more credits. Considering that 80% of the items in your home you only use once a month or less, this new era of "trading" could be right up your alley.

If you love getting new stuff (as we all do) but consumerism kind of grosses you out (as it kind of should, especially for San Franciscans), becoming a part of this marketplace is ideal.

PLUS, Yerdle is posting an Apple TV today and another one tomorrow, so sign up today and get in on that!
