In the wake of last week's freak winds, here's a beautiful real-time map created by HINT.FM of the current gales flowing across the United States. The map was created as an art project, so although the data is "near-term forecasts" streamed hourly from the National Digital Forecast Database, HINT.FM discourages anyone from using this map to "fly a plane, sail a boat, or fight wildfires."
I like how the map looks like blowing hair, which is very appropriate for a wind map.
