Adorable SF-Themed Day of the Dead Dioramas

Editor's note: Happy skeletons are, of course, the most prominent icons of Día de los Muertos. They're meant to poke fun at mortality in a whimsical way, reminding us that no one can escape death, and are used as offerings on altars to help guide the departed back to this world for the night. Of all the folk art surrounding Day of the Dead, dioramas are by far the cutest, depicting joyful skeletons in colorful little scenarios. We asked artist Rebecca Stillman to create four Mexican-style shadowboxes showcasing classic San Francisco scenes.
