If you’re the kind of person who gets giddy when you see a celebrity but you also really love goofy looking dogs with adorable overbites, then you need to be at the San Francisco SPCA today (Thursday) from 5-10 p.m. Tuna, of the famous @TunaMeltsMyHeart Instagram feed, will be hanging out and taking pictures with his adoring fans.
As if that weren’t reason enough, the SPCA is celebrating the 75th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz by waiving adoption fees for all kittens and cats and dogs over six months old. After all, there's no place like (a) home. If you can’t make it tonight, the adoption fee special is good through Sunday. There will be face painting by Sephora and food and drinks from a ton of local food trucks and boozeries. More details on the event here.
Bring your critter back the following Saturday for a pan-denominational blessing of the animals with Rabbi Camille Shira Angel of Congregation Sha’ar Zahav. Blessings start at 1:30 p.m. in the courtyard.
