Sick of pricey small plates? We’re starting to see more dishes and meals intended for two popping up on menus around the city,  items that buck the tiny portions proliferation to offer some relative value. Below you’ll find some new and seasoned presentations for when you’re feeling too ravenous for tapas:

Asado Mixto at Lolinda

Lolinda, the Argentinian grill in the Mission, has a platter for two with generous portions of chorizo, flap loin, short rib, and morcilla (blood sausage), served with mild-to-buzzy shishito peppers and potatoes. Meat: It’s what’s for meat ($38). (See photo above)

Paella de Pescado at Beso

The bulk of the menu at the two-month-old Besois actually tapas style, which caters nicely to the prime cruising Castro location on 18th, but don’t overlook the paella option for two if you’ve got 20 minutes or a half hour to spare for the preparation. The reward is bomba rice cooked in a rich lobster broth spiked with saffron and sofrito and piled with mussels, baby squid, monkfish, shrimp, and Manila clams ($36).

49er at Bobo’s

Lombard Street steakhouse classic Bobo’s can truthfully tackle more than two people with 49 medium rare ounces of Porterhouse. The only hitch is that you must call ahead to see if this will be available when you want it ($149.99).

Epic Meal for Two at Epic Roasthouse

Splashing out on the surf and turf dinner for two at Epic Roasthouse is the most luxurious option here, a 32-ounce Tomahawk rib steak and a two-pound Maine lobster over seasonal greens. And it comes with sides of incredible Bay Bridge view and romance ($198).

Le Fraisier Pour Deux at Gaspar Brasserie

Gaspar Brasserie, a five-month-old French charmer in the Financial District, has an exquisite dessert to split. Truth be told, it is difficult for two people to finish it at the end of a decadent meal, but well worth the effort to try. A tower of tender pistachio biscuit and dense mousseline is filled with a jam of roasted strawberries and topped with a rich caramelized meringue and a bubbly sugar wall ($13).
