Here’s some advice to prospective restaurateurs: Screw social media, pick up a Krylon can and just tag your new space to let people know it’s on the way.
Oh word, that’s how they do it now? Apparently so, at least in the Inner Richmond.
It appears that two new restaurants, Kobe Korean BBQ and Infinite Sushi, are in the process of taking over the former Quan Bac restaurant at 4112 Geary Boulevard. Judging from the way the owners have announced their impending arrival, we shall expect nothing but the finest in interior design choices. We’re thinking laminated menus and plastic coated booths. If they insisted on defacing the outside of the building couldn’t they have at least found a kid with a shred of artistic ability?
Considering this space is smack dab in a strip of Geary known for Korean BBQ restaurants and sushi spots, these upcoming options will need to have really good food — or stupidly low prices — in order to be competitive. Then again, there is no application on record as of yet to transfer the existing alcohol license into either of these two names. So there's a small chance this is all an art prank, in which case it is an utter stroke of genius.
