Last week The Bold Italic hosted our first ever North Beach Microhood! Over 1,400 people came out to this lively neighborhood for a night of amazing deals, drink specials, giveaways, and fun. We’ve rounded up some great highlights from the event.

Eventbrite hosted the official after party at Monroe. Guests had a blast with the bar’s Battle of the Decades happy hour, where DJs played hits from the '70s, '80s, '90s, and 2000s, and drink specials started at $1. Check out the photos from Snap Yourself's awesome photo booth.

New Belgium hosted their Wheel o’ Fun, gave away free Golden Boy pizza, and featured $4 beers while guests rocked out to the band Night Train at Maggie McGarry’s

DJs Raybeez and S-Dog performed at Grant and Green Saloon, where New Belgium featured $3 beers and gave away free Golden Boy pizza.

Thirsty shoppers were delighted to receive free bottles of Purity Organic’s delicious juice.

Specs' Twelve Adler Museum Cafe, a North Beach staple since 1968, offered $3 cosmopolitans.

For shoppers who needed a little perk, Réveille Coffee Co. gave away free brewed coffee and espresso.

Every month, Storefront gives one lucky creative vendor a chance to win a booth at our Microhood events. This month’s winner was Instapainting, a company that can turn any of your photos into a hand-done oil painting. The Storefront team was also on site to give information about how they help artists, designers, and brands find and rent pop-up spaces in the city.

Acqua e Sapone Skincare & Acne Treatment Center treated shoppers to free skin consultations, skincare samples, and champagne.

Little Szechuan, a Chinese restaurant on Broadway, gave hungry diners 15% off all appetizers and drinks.

The Condor Club featured live music, $3 drink specials, and a special industry VIP card giveaway.

The Bold Italic was on site with Uncle Jesse, our human-powered treat machine. Prizes included our popular San Francisco patches, swag from Beach Blanket Babylon, fun temporary tattoos from Tattly, treats, and more!

Thanks to everyone who came out, the merchants who participated, and the Top of Broadway Community Benefit District for their support. It was a fantastic night in one of our favorite neighborhoods, and we can’t wait to see everyone at our next Microhood in Cow Hollow on October 23rd!
