The National Weather Service says this will most likely be the driest year on record for San Francisco. (Take that, 1946!) According to Accuweather, SF records go back to 1927 making this a medium-sized deal. SFO has only received 3.38 inches of rain this year compared to a usual 18 or so inches. As of last week, there are no signs of serious rain to come before the year's end so go forth and speak with confidence about the weather with your extended family as part of the beautiful holiday tradition of small talk.
