I don't know about you, but I find it frustrating that almost every comic book film is set in New York – or a city based on New York (Gotham). It seems like the only time Hollywood pays attention to SF is when it's destroying it. Fortunately these trends may be coming to an end.
The feature adaptation of the comic Ant-Man is set to begin filming on August 18th in and around the Union Square area, including the Stanford Court Hotel on California Street. You may have noticed a flyer like this one below (originally posted on Reddit) if you've been walking around that neighborhood this week. Even though the announcement says "Bigfoot," we can confirm they are not making a movie starring the famous Sasquatch.

Important details about the movie have begun to emerge too. The Ant-Man will be played by Judd Apatow regular Paul Rudd. Michael Douglas will be have supporting role in the film as the mad scientist character, and Peyton Reed (Bring It On, The Break-Up, and Yes Man) will be at the helm as director.
After filming in SF, the crew plans on moving to Georgia for the rest of shooting. Ant-Man is expected to be release July 17th, 2015.
