Give Marin the 628 Area Code, Not SF

As you may have heard, the western half of the Bay Area, which includes most of Marin, SF, and little bit of San Mateo county, is having its area code disrupted. SF Weekly reported that the 415 prefix will soon reach capacity, and starting in March 2015, 628 will be assigned to new numbers (good news for people who like area codes that work as addition equations).

However, we think that instead of sharing 415 and 628, why not create one 415 region and one 628 region? That wouldn't be unprecedented – 415 used to cover the East Bay until it became 510. We propose that Marin get the 628 and we keep 415. After all, San Francisco is synonymous with the four-one-five.
