It seems like there's a celebrity sighting at least once a week in the Bay Area, and this week is no different. Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, arrived yesterday in San Francisco to film scenes for the new earthquake movie, San Andreas. The movie, about a man trying to save his family after a large earthquake, will be filming around San Francisco for the rest of the week. Yesterday's scenes took place around AT&T Park, but there are more plans to shoot in Russian Hill, the Financial District, and around the Fairmount Hotel on Mason Street. This movie made news a few weeks ago, as some residents in Russian Hill weren't keen on the idea of how filming would affect parking and traffic in their area.
The Rock, who is originally from Hayward, recently made waves across social media when a picture from the '90s surfaced, featuring the actor wearing a turtleneck and sporting a ubiquitous fanny pack that was popular at that time. You can tell the actor doesn't take himself too seriously, as he tweeted his arrival with two hashtags: #NoFannyPacks and #PlaceOfBirth#HaywardStrong.
